While there are plenty of ways to entertain our tots thanks to modern technology, sometimes there is no better way of bonding with your child than with a classic board game. Here are some great old board games that you can play with your child this summer:

Snakes and Ladders
This board game can be played by children from three onwards. Not only is it a great way for your child to practise their counting but can be great fun, especially with how unpredictable the game is. You can also swap the role of the snakes and ladders in the game, by having the snake as a way of going up the board quicker and the ladder as a way of getting them down the board.

Sorry
This game is suitable for children four and upwards. Sorry helps your child when it comes to their counting skills and encourages a little healthy competition for children. Like snakes and ladders a player can go from a position of first to last in an instant, so it’s always a good idea to play this game in a group as well as reminding your child that these games are only a bit of fun.

Scrabble Junior
A brilliant way to educate your little one about this board game classic. Scrabble junior helps your tot in not only improving their spelling and reading but the valuable lesson of following the rules. This game is great for the whole family and is suitable for those aged four onwards.

Monopoly Junior
Another fun way of introducing a family classic to your tot. Monopoly Junior is not only great for the whole family but also teaches your child the value of sharing, math and how to completing simple transactions (which will come in handy for the future). This great classic is suitable for those aged five onwards.

Guess Who
This game maybe only suitable for two players but it still doesn’t make any less fun for your child. This game will not only help your child’s verbal skills but will require them to use some detective work on their part. This game is suitable for children aged six onwards.
