Doll maker Jessica Sebastian says her profession is “not a heroic one”. However, she has made an amazing change to one little girl’s life – by making a very special toy for her birthday.

Recently, Jessica was contacted by mum Danielle Munger with a special request. She wanted a bunny doll for her two-year-old daughter, Brynn, who loved animals - but asked for one specific feature.

As Brynn had lost her left eye to cancer, Danielle wanted her to have a doll that resembled her, and asked Jessica to make the doll without a left eye.

Danielle said they first noticed Brynn's eyelid was drooping a couple weeks after her first birthday. Doctors later discovered a tumour behind her left eye.

"Her cancer is rare, and the diagnosis took a while to come," she told FOX News. "Finally, we learned that her cancer is called Undifferentiated Sarcoma."

Brynn's doctor recommended having her left eye removed, as well as everything else within her left orbit, because the tumor had touched everything.

The brave little girl underwent several surgeries and then had six weeks of daily radiation to eradicate the cancer cells. She then had to undergo a skin graft to close the wound on her eye.

Brynn is now in remission, and her family wanted to mark her third birthday with a special gift.

Danielle explained that little Brynn had started to notice she was different, and she had read articles about how finding a doll who matches how a child looks can be helpful and therapeutic.

Jessica explained: “She wanted her daughter to have a doll that looks like her and only has her right eye.”

“To date, I don't think I've ever been asked to create something so tender and meaningful.”

Jessica dutifully made a beautiful bunny doll with a right eye and a glittery gold bow over where the left one ought to be. She was thrilled to see a photo of Brynn on her third birthday, clutching her new doll and smiling.

Jessica says: “Here is the adorable little girl on her third birthday, hugging her one-eyed bunny who is just as perfect and beautiful as she is.”

“My favourite part of this photo is how she is wearing her Wonder Woman nightgown. It perfectly represents the strength and courage of this little superhero."

Danielle said: “The outpouring of love in all its forms was so amazing, so appreciated, and so very needed.”

"And now through this journey we have added Jessica to the list of amazing, caring, generous people blessing our lives."
