Flying with children goes one of two ways; a dream or a nightmare.
There never seems to be an in-between, the time quite literally flies by or it drags on like there is no ending in sight.
The kids love this though - oh, they love to see us mums and dads under pressure, trying to make sure our brood doesn't scream the plane downward.
But are dads under as much pressure as mums while flying with children?
Constance Hall, flew with her sister and their kids recently when heading on a break away.
Her niece, Mattea - a nightmare - she's the most adorable and unapologetically fierce two-year-old you will find.
But while Constance and her sister, Stella, tried to calm the tot as much as they could, the blogger wasn't overly surprised at the outcome when they eventually landed.
"Travelling with my sister and her kids last week and I noticed something that I've noticed too many times before..."
"So my sister and her husband both had to fly with Mattea in the space of a couple of days, he took her for one flight, Stella did the next," explained the mum-of-four.
And of course, it was on Mum's flight that little Mattea kicked off, screaming and crying while Stella and Constance were at a loss on what to do next, they had exhausted every avenue.
That was when it happened; an air hostess walked over and snapped at the tot: "JUST SHOOSH," giving the mums a look of annoyance.
Obviously, it didn't work as a two-year-old does not care for shushing, and she continued to kick and scream until they landed safely at their destination.
"When we landed I told my brother-in-law what flying had been like with little Mattea and how Stell probably needs a massage and I asked him how he survived it when he flew with her."
"To which he responded, 'it was great, every time Mattea screamed the air hostesses came and took her off me for walks, they told me I'd handle her brilliantly and gave us extra food'."
The self-made queen claims the situation wouldn't annoy her only for the fact it happens way too often, that the double standards are reaching boiling point.
"I was trolley shamed for feeding my kids two-minute noodles, Denim gets called 'hot' for doing the grocery run with a kid in tow, despite literally only buying meat and milk."
"I get told how lucky I am to have him even though I have kids, but I have step-parented for a long time and have never been considered a hero," she adds.
While the sisters now have a personal joke each time they see these instances occur, it is rather alarming how often these scenarios come about.
We should be celebrating motherhood just as much as we celebrate fatherhood, as both are equally as important.
