A mum was left in absolute shock when she looked at a photo that she had taken of her toddler in their garden, and found something truly terrifying.

Bianca Dickinson took her two-year-old daughter Molly to the end of her driveway in Victoria, Australia to take a few photos of her while they waited for the "big kids to get off the bus".

However, she was not expecting that hiding in the bushes was something that would send a shiver down anyone's spine: a brown snake.

Taking to Instagram to share her experience, Bianca revealed that her daughter, thankfully, did not even notice the snake, which slide past as she beckoned her daughter to stay completely still.

"I saw something move out of the corner of my eye and thought it was bark falling from the tree as it was so windy..." she wrote.

"I looked up to see this big mother of a brown slide past Miss Molly. She didn't even notice it thankfully and is totally fine, I still haven't recovered!"

Adding that the reptile was at least 2m long, Bianca admitted that she still feels sick looking at the picture.

Considering it is one of the world's most venomous snakes, we're not surprised that this poor mama was truly shaken up by the ordeal.

This is one to share with someone who has plans to head Down Under for the summer!
