Riley from Ireland has non-verbal autism.

This makes it very hard for him to express how he’s feeling, and he was devastated earlier this week.

Why? Well, the two-and-a-half year old is a big fan of the Angry Birds toys from the McDonald’s Happy Meals and had quite the collection – until he lost them all the other day.

As his mum said, he was beside himself, but of course couldn’t really tell her.

“He spent an hour searching in every cupboard and drawer for these birds which were nowhere to be seen,” mum Nicole Duggan told Cork’s Red FM.

She added that, because of his communication issues, “losing his favourite toy caused a lot of tantrums and upset.”

Unfortunately, McDonald’s current Happy Meals come with different toys, so it wasn’t as simple as making another trip to his local branch.

So Nicole emailed McDonald’s asking if she could buy them.

Just the next morning however, she received this package in the post. It was from McDonalds and was packed with all of the Angry Birds toys that had come with the kids’ meals in recent months.

With the toys was a lovely note from McDonalds. It read: ‘Hi Nicole, Enclosed is the complete set of angry birds toys. Hope this cheers up little Riley.’

It sure did.

“It was amazing!,” Nicole told DailyEdge. “I don’t think anyone understands how something so small can make him so happy!”
