Easy and versatile, this ragu can be a sandwich filler, topped over pasta or rice and frozen for later use.
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 x bay leaf
6 tbsp tomato paste
3 tsp dried oregano
450g beef steak, cut in half
Salt and ground pepper
1-2 tbsp red-wine vinegar
In the slow cooker, combine the onion, garlic, bay leaf, tomato paste, and oregano.
Season the beef with salt and pepper and place on top of the onion mixture.
Add 235ml of water, cover, and cook on low for 5 hours.
Let cool for 10 minutes.
Stir in vinegar to taste and serve with rice, crusty bread or over pasta.
