How adorable is this? Three-year-old Aiden Kramer and two-year-old Silas Rye have managed to build an unbreakable friendship in the halls of the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

Interestingly, it was only when the boys’ dads got talking that they realised the tots suffered from the same rare form of leukaemia.

And while it’s tough dealing with the harrowing disease, Aiden’s mum Ashley Kramer reckons the friendship between the boys is doing wonders for keeping their spirits up.

“Medicine does its job, doctors come in and they’re compassionate, but having somebody, especially a child, who is missing out on their childhood, to be able to be truly happy, happy while they’re fighting so hard, you can’t buy that,” Ashley told CBS.

The boys are best friends now, and Ashley said that they clicked straight away.

“It was like, ‘He’s my size!’ and they hit it right off,” she said.

While Aiden was recently diagnosed, Silas has been fighting the disease for a lot longer. The tot has been in and out of hospital since he was born, and so far has had a staggering 17 rounds of chemotherapy.

“It’s extremely difficult,” Silas’ mum Sabrina Rye said. “It’s even harder when you see him get so excited…about an elevator ride and you just know there is so much more out there that he deserves.”

Aiden has actually left the hospital now, having been declared well enough to go home. But touchingly, he visits Silas in the 4 East section of the hospital once a week.

“When your son wakes up and says ‘Let’s go to 4 East’ and I’m like ‘Honey, you have to go to school,’ it’s no negative,” Ashley said. “All the bad stuff, and to him it’s still not negative.”

What a beautiful friendship, and forged in the most unlikely of places. Check out their antics below!
