By the time your child reaches preschool age, they will have had lots of social interactions with relatives, neighbours, playground friends etc.

Once they start playschool this will increase even more as they will make friends they will see on a regular basis.

Playdates will become popular and before you know it, there are children in your home at least once a month.

At the start, it can be difficult to keep these little ones occupied. But, if you want to ensure they have a fun time in your home and want to come back, here are some things you can do that all preschoolers will love and be engaged with.

Balloon activities
Kids love balloons and they will keep them occupied for ages. You can even set up little games like Balloon Float where they can’t let the balloon touch the ground.

Sock puppets
Get some socks and get the little ones to decorate them with googly eyes, wool, fabric pieces and PVA glue. Not only will the children love making these, they will especially love playing with them after and taking them home to show their parents.

Reading fort
Kids love to feel like they have their own private space so build a small fort in the living room, nothing too fancy. They will love reading stories and eating their snack in their own fort.

Bubbles fun
Bubbles are like the definition of fun and happiness. The little ones will have hours of fun chasing, bursting and blowing bubbles in the garden.

Cooking lesson
Get the children into the kitchen and have them involved in helping you cook a simple food like cupcakes. Let them help you mix, pour and do all of the things that involve no heat.

Painting
Give the children some paint and let them create some abstract finger painting!
