Ned, a writer for Buzzfeed, is considering having children with his wife, and so to see if he can handle it, he decided to take care of his colleague Mike’s kids for a day.

“My wife and I are going to have kids soon, but I’m terrified and overwhelmed by that idea,” he said, prior to the ‘experiment’.

And in the course of the day we see him attempt to play pretend, fulfil the kids’ often illogical-seeming demands and battle extreme tiredness.

How did he get on? Well, according to Mike, he did pretty well, but as soon as the kids went to bed, this is what Ned had to say (with a slight tinge of hysteria in his voice):

“I was only with the kids a short period of time. I want to go into a hot bubble bath and drink white wine!”

Although saying that, he wasn't completely traumatised: “Even thought it was extremely difficulty and exhausting on my body, seeing the way Mike interacted with his kids and how much they loved him and him loved them, was a nice feeling,” he said. “I think of all the things my dad did for me and I’m so thankful.”

He then rang his wife to tell her how he got on.

“She said, let’s make babies,” he said when he got off the phone, looking a bit shook, “which is pretty awesome, but also pretty terrifying.”

Yep, that about sums it up.
