Should I create a family tradition?

When your toddler is three years old, it’s a great time to start thinking about creating a family tradition that they will remember the rest of their life.

Most people can recall a family tradition that was very special to them; baking biscuits with granny, picking fruit each autumn, or an annual family camping trip.

Traditions help to create strong family ties and provide a way to stay connected with family. If your child grows up attending an annual family camping trip, they will develop a stronger bond to relatives who may live far away. Additionally, when a child knows that they will get to see these relatives at next year’s camping trip, it gives them a lot to look forward to.

You may consider starting a tradition that teaches values to your child. Many families volunteer each year to a charity. This type of tradition will make your child feel good about himself and teach him about helping someone as well as good values.
